THE SIMPSONS

It would be a hard task to find anyone working in animation today who didn’t grow up watching The Simpsons, so when ESPN and the team behind The Simpsons at Disney asked us to join them on this one-of-a-kind simulcast for Monday Night Football, we were ecstatic!

Starting with extensive research, we wanted to make sure we brushed up on our Simpsons lore and gags from all 30+ seasons. Our team was tasked with producing the opening coin toss and 25 other short animations throughout the broadcast, as well as modeling the majority of the Simpsons characters that would be jumping from 2D to 3D for the very first time.

FROM 2D TO 3D

From characters to props and little environment pieces, our design and modeling teams took charge by capturing the magic of The Simpsons.

From there, our rigging team built extensive rigging systems for each CH, despite a time crunch that required them to build each rig in only 2 days.

LANDING THE JOKES

Our main job was to ensure that each animated piece we completed truly felt like it fit in with the show's vast world. We started each animation with storyboards, maintaining the unique aesthetic that has kept the show so popular.

THE GAGS

Producing 25 unique animated sketches in only 8 weeks was a herculean task, but our mighty team of layout artists, animators, and compositors made it look easy.
