DISNEY’S DUNK THE HALLS

What better way to spend Christmas than watching Santa save the day?

MICKEY AND FRIENDS

Disney’s Dunk The Halls presented many challenges, notwithstanding that Mickey and his friends are some of the most iconic characters ever created, and we had to make sure we honored their legacy.

To begin, we had 8 days to design, build, and animate the show’s signature opening sequence, which was to be used as the launch trailer for the event. Working directly with Eric Goldberg, the Disney legend, and the team at ESPN, we crafted an opening that felt like it was ripped from a storybook. Mickey wanted to play basketball with his friends on Christmas, and the only person who could make that happen was Santa.

Along with the open, we had crafted the two-part closing animation for the show, along with 25 other animated segments throughout the broadcast.

MAIN ST. USA FUN

With the show taking place on Main St. USA at Disneyland, designed by ESPN, we had to choreograph all of our scenes to work with the massive set piece. From early storyboard test to final composition, each scene was meticulously brought to life by our team in roughly 6 weeks.

CHRISTMAS WISH

To close things off, the broadcast had to have Santa come back one more time to save the day and end things with a bang. Working right up to the very end, conceptualizing this piece only days before the broadcast, we worked with our partners to craft an ending that fit in with the Disney dream.
