ROLAND GARROS
Our goal was to create something beautiful that fit in with the pageantry of Paris, but that also felt big, propulsive and unexpected.
PRODUCTION TEAM

FINDING OUR PARISIAN INSPIRATION
Roland Garros has always been an event that embodies the personality of Paris.
It’s sleek, elegant, genre-defining, and pulse-pounding exhilaration. We needed to immerse ourselves in all things Paris, from the art and culture to architecture and fashion; the inspiration was endless. We pulled it apart, quite literally!

ELEGANCE WITH A BIT OF CHAOS
Settling into a package that would be immersed within Paris, we built an open that would have the elegance of Paris combined with the intensity of the sport.
Finding the right balance between the traditional Roland Garros brand colours and unique colour accents that would set the TNT Sports broadcast apart from other Tennis broadcasts.
Electric, vibrant and youthful, we landed on tennis ball yellow and purple to help infuse some unexpected flourishes to the production. Never overtaking the screen for too long, but just enough to enhance the impact of each element.

THE PILLARS OF THE PACKAGE
Finding unique benchmarks for this package that would create a strong base foundation to build off of for years to come was not a simple task.
Throughout the package, we focused on 5 key elements to ground the design principles. Jordan Greenstein had a clear vision from the beginning for using Scenics of Paris to hold digital installations that we could use to help with the city takeover component of the package.
Early on, Jordan Shorhouse, TNT Sports Creative Director, was also very drawn to the idea of using Metallic/Acrylic textures as a way to tie the broadcast graphics with the Insert graphics, which were designed internally at Turner.
Explosive Clay
To tie everything together, we did extensive research on the clay at Roland Garros. It was important to understand how it reacted to the players' movements, ball impacts, and the environment. Multiple simulations were built for each variation to give our team ample options when integrating them back into the elements.
ON AIR
Launching on TNT Sports in May of 2025, the Roland Garros on TNT Sports package represents a new frontier for the sport in the United States for the next decade.
