In the second annual Disney’s Dunk The Halls broadcast, Stitch makes his big debut!
HERE COMES STITCH!
Time for Stitch to Shine!
We all know Stitch is a bit of a troublemaker, but not intentionally. He simply craves attention and wants everyone to have a great time! Given this, we knew the halftime competition for this year’s Disney’s Dunk The Hall needed to capitalize on Stitch’s knack for causing mischievous yet extravagant moments of fun.
The Float Competition emerged from several creative brainstorming sessions, with a story that evolved significantly from its initial concept. The key to the event was to give each duo or group of characters their own moment in the spotlight, culminating in Stitch’s inevitable grand entrance to conclude the show.
Over the course of seven weeks, our talented team of artists successfully produced the five-minute Float Competition halftime show for Dunk The Halls!
FUN WITH FLOATS
One of the biggest obstacles was the floats. Each float needed to be unique, grand, and reflect the character traits of the characters featured on each one. Designing, modelling, rigging, and preparing the floats for production in just two weeks was a massive undertaking, but our design team delivered flawlessly, like a beautifully wrapped Christmas gift.
Each float includes a few hidden Easter eggs for each character, or references the first Dunk The Halls from 2024. The goal was to create a fun, exciting, and vibrant spectacle for the fans!

SIMULATIONS FOR DAYS
This year’s Dunk the Halls broadcast marked the first time an alt-cast included complex destruction simulations on three of the main floats. While simulations are fun and exciting, they can also be a bit of a pain to get right!
ON AIR
Launching on ESPN, ESPN+, and Disney+ on December 25th, 2025, the Disney Dunk The Halls broadcast is a fun basketball broadcast for the whole family to enjoy.
